Whisk(e)y reviews focused on taste & value

I'm a whisk(e)y enthusiast, but by no means an aficionado (nor photographer).  I buy a bunch and I try even more so here we are.

My attempt, going forward, is to provide straightforward thoughts and reviews on various whiskeys that I enjoy (and some that I don't) and my thoughts on whether they are worth the money (or not).

WARNING: If you expect tasting notes such as "early summer marmalade on a cool evening" you are going to be sorely disappointed, but if you're looking for basic notes and an indication of how it compares with others in its price range, then hopefully you will continue to check out my posts.

In addition to my tasting notes, I will assign a rating based on taste and adjusted for the price point. My aim is to provide value reviews, not simply to tell you that expensive and exclusive bottlings are good and cheap whiskey is not as good. See my Ratings page for more details how the ratings are assigned.

The FREE reviews that will be available to everyone will be based on more entry level whiskies. Bourbons and Ryes up to $50 or so with Single Malt Scotch and some other international whiskeys up to the $75 price level. Reviews for bottles that are a bit more expensive or harder to find will be available via the Exclusive Content area within the website. The monthly membership fee will be $2. Check out some additional details and benefits from the Nice Sipper membership here.
